Applications for PURE Hard Surface

Did you know that PURE Hard Surface solution (Silver Dihydrogen Citrate or SDC) has been developed and tested by PURE Bioscience. During these tests, evidence concluded that PURE Surface disinfectant can provide up to an 8-9 log reduction in micro counts, including spores, on various hard-to-clean food processing systems and equipment?

Silver ions have long been known to exhibit strong antimicrobial properties. They are very effective at achieving an 8-9 log reduction in micro counts in as little as a 120 second contact time!

PURE Hard Surface solution:

• Exhibits broad spectrum kill, including spores
• Is odorless and non-corrosive, and classified as non-hazardous
• Potential Applications:
  • Membrane Filtration Systems
  • Pasteurizers
  • Separators/Clarifiers
  • Dryers
  • Fillers
• Is a “ready-to-use” solution containing:
  • 30 ppm active silver dihydrogen citrate
  • 4.78% citric acid
  • 30 ppm Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (anionic surfactant)
  • Balance: Water
• Is non-oxidizing. It will not damage the delicate surface of spiral-wound sanitary membranes.
• The silver ion (Ag+ ) can pass through an reverse osmosis (RO) and Nano membrane to effectively treat the permeate side of the membrane element.
• Even though PURE Hard Surface is considered a “ready-to-use” solution, it has been shown be an effective treatment for membrane systems, even when diluted down to 7.5 ppm silver ion!

This means that PURE Hard Surface solution can be diluted in a ratio of 25 gallons of PURE Hard Surface to 75 gallons of chloride-free water to achieve 100 gallons of an effective 7.5 ppm solution of silver ion.

Note: The water required for dilution of PURE Hard Surface must not contain excessive chlorides—condensate of whey (COW) water or RO permeate are recommended. If COW or RO water are not available, then a water-deionization resin column may need to be utilized.
