Propylene glycol is commonly used in the plastics and polymer industries. Propylene glycol is utilized in the production of resins, polymers, and polyurethanes. Propylene glycol is also used as a food preservative, an additive to de-icing fluid, a refrigerant in glycol refrigeration systems and as a solvent in the pharmaceutical industry.
Propylene glycol is not compatible with strong oxidizing agents, acid chlorides, acid anhydrides, chloroformates, and reducing agents. Please see SDS for full safety and compatibility information.
