What Chemicals are Used in Plant-Based Foods?

We manufacture liquid Dipotassium Phosphate (DKP) and Tripotassium Citrate (TPC) at multiple Hydrite facilities, as well as distribute dry versions of each. Our liquid formulations have various benefits over the dry form in the plant-based milk and functional beverage markets.

 

Dipotassium Phosphate (DKP)

Dipotassium Phosphate is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) for use in human foods, also considered GRAS for use in food generally as a multiple purpose food ingredient when used in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).

 

Tripotassium Citrate (Tpc)

Tripotassium Citrate is produced in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) under a comprehensive HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) program. Our TPC is manufactured in facilities that are GFSI/FSMA compliant. Tripotassium Citrate is considered “GRAS” (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the United States Food and Drug Administration without restriction as to the quantity of use within good manufacturing practice

The BENEFITS of Liquid DKP and TPC are many.  Liquid solution is easily stored and pumped. Using a liquid solution saves labor and time compared to dissolving dry ingredients and is more economical compared to the dry form.  Liquid DKP and TPC are sustainable products with a low carbon footprint through reduced energy consumption and packaging waste.
