Application: Sodium sulfate is a highly water soluble compound mainly used in the manufacture of detergents and in paper pulping. In detergents its largest use is as a filler for powdered laundry detergents. It also has uses in the glass industry as a fining agent, and in textile manufacturing as a levelling agent. On a smaller scale, it can be used as a drying agent in organic solutions, as a laxative, in defrosting windows, carpet-fresheners, and in starch manufacturing.
Compatibility: Sodium sulfate is reactive with oxidizing agents and metals, especially magnesium, but is in incompatible with aluminum, potassium, mercury, lead, calcium, silver, barium, ammonium ions, and strontium. Please see SDS for full safety and compatibility information.
