Nitric acid is a strong mineral acid with dominant oxidizing and nitrating properties. Nitric acid is a general cleaning agent on all surfaces, soak tanks, or with steam or mechanical cleaning devices in all departments. Nitric acid is also commonly used in photo engraving, chemical preparations as well as the electronic and agricultural chemical industries.
Nitric acid is incompatible with moisture, bases, organic material, metals, hydrogen sulfide, carbides, alcohols, organic solvents, carbides, cyanides, and sulfides. Please see SDS for full safety and compatibility information.
A 25% (w/w) aqueous dilution of nitric acid.
A 30% (w/w) aqueous dilution of nitric acid.
A 35% (w/w) aqueous dilution of nitric acid.
A 37% (w/w) aqueous dilution of nitric acid.
A 36 degree baumé solution of nitric acid. This is equivalent to approximately 52.6% nitric acid.
A 38 degree baumé solution of nitric acid. This is equivalent to approximately 56.9% nitric acid.
A 40 degree baum solution of nitric acid. This is equivalent to approximately 61.4% nitric acid.
A 41 degree baume solution of nitric acid. This is equivalent to approximately 64.6% nitric acid.
A 42 degree baumé solution of nitric acid. This is equivalent to approximately 67.2% nitric acid.
