Applications
Ferric chloride is an inorganic compound primarily used in water/sewage treatment and drinking water production. It is a strong Lewis acid and acts as a flocculant when added to slightly basic water, removing suspended materials. Ferric chloride also has use in etching copper, specifically for printed circuit boards.
