Application: Ascorbic acid is a naturally occurring weak acid that is sometimes known as vitamin C. As a food additive, it is often used to fortify produced food or to restore vitamin C losses from production. While it is most commonly associated with food applications, ascorbic acid also promotes plant growth and protection in agriculture, as a component of polymer processing, in cosmetic, and in cleaning agents.
