Citric Acid

Application: Citric acid is a weak organic acid that is widely used as an acidifier, in flavoring, and as a chelating agent. The majority of citric acid is consumed as a food additive, whether as an acidifier or as flavoring. It is also an excellent cleaner, especially for removing limescale, due to its chelating abilities.

Compatibility: Citric acid can be abrasive and corrosive, and is incompatible with bases, peroxides, cast iron, nylon, and some plastics. Aqueous solutions have corrosive effects on metals including carbon steels, 304 stainless steel, zinc, copper, aluminium and nickel alloys. Please see SDS for full safety and compatibility information.

Packaging Options: Citric acid is typically available in drums, totes or bulk. Please contact us for specific packaging information.
