Each September we offer weekly, one-hour Food Safety Fridays webinars focusing on food safety and sanitation. These short-form, topical sessions include supplemental information that builds off of our two-day food safety, sanitation, and membrane trainings.

For Week 1, Joel will cover the chemistry of cleaning for high heat equipment, including the use of additives such as chelants, gluconates, and surfactants. Advanced application methodology such as override wash procedures will also be covered. Pasteurizer process, cleaning, and troubleshooting will be reviewed in this webinar identifying niche areas of concern for bacterial contamination and remediation.

About Joel

As a Sr Technical Manager, Joel is responsible for food safety education for employees and customers. He has over 37 years of experience in the food industry including a Wisconsin cheesemaker license, owner of a cheese manufacturing company and new product development in chemical applications. His focus continues to be on microbial troubleshooting and investigation in food manufacturing and membrane technology.
