Applications

Phosphoric acid is a strong mineral acid most often used in fertilizers. The vast majority of phosphoric acid is used as a phosphorous source in fertilizers, but it also has application as an acidifier food additive, as a rust inhibitor, in cleaning products, and as a dispersing agent.

Compatibilities

Phosphoric acid is incompatible with bases, organic material, metals, sulfides, chlorates, perchlorates, permanganates, nitrates, azides, peroxides, cyanides, hypochlorites, nitirites, and organic solvents. Please see SDS for full safety and compatibility information.
